Enforcing the "Right to Die": The Case of Terri Schiavo
Please read the above and also visit this site. I've been aware of this case for awhile but to my shame have not payed to much attention to the details. Reading about it this morning has left me heartsick. I have two elderly grandparents. Will a hospital or court one day soon tell us that they are too incapacitated to live? In a couple decades will I be ordered to allow my parents to die? I know that medical ethics are complicated but in the case of Terry Schiavo I think the issue is clear. The church (and common sense) teaches us that withholding nourishment with the intent of causing or permitting death is WRONG!
